What is it?
ENCOUNTERS WITH CINEMA - ANDEAN CHOCÓ, is a film creation laboratory for young storytellers. It carries out training, production and alternative distribution of cinema exploring memory and reflecting together with local audiences to later expand its message globally. Inspiring individuals, communities, companies and society in general, within the rewarding practice of transforming their ideas into a dream come movie.
How?
The project is aimed at the rural communities of Mashpi and Pachijal of the Commonwealth of Chocó Andino, focused on local young people between the ages of 17 to 25, with gender equality. Who also meet with active professionals in the audiovisual, educational and environmental media.
¿Why?
We want to listen to the voices of the young people of our community. Share their point of view, and give them the tools so they can express their own ideas. We create opportunities to inspire the young people from rural parishes of Quito to be creators, of art, life and solutions. We believe that the empowerment and promotion of young local voices allows them to express their realities and motivate other young people to be agents of change in their communities.
Training Program and School Forest
Participants learn the technical aspects of filmmaking, but also tools of audiovisual culture in relation to key environmental and social issues in their territory to later be narrated in their creations.
